The Kibera Foundation is a non-profit organization working to make a difference in the lives of children living in the Kibera Slums, many who have been orphaned by the AIDS epidemic. We strive to provide the necessary resources so that this community can grow stronger, become more self sufficient and better able to accommodate future generations. We believe this world was built one child at a time, and although the problems faced by the orphaned children of Kibera may seem overwhelming, the solution to rebuilding their future is also done, one child at a time. By providing consistent care, a viable education, and expanded opportunities we hope to make a real difference in the lives of these orphaned children.
Currently, the Kibera Foundation is run and supported by two ordinary but caring citizens in the United States. All proceeds needed to support the many projects in the Kibera are being donated by the two foundation directors; Darrell Karp and Christine Olson, along with a small group of their family and friends. Both Christine & Darrell maintain “day jobs” in order to support their own families, therefore, all of the work for The Kibera Foundation is done after hours and on weekends. There is so much more that is needed; but we simply can’t do this alone.
Unlike many other non-profit organizations, 100% of every dollar we raise is given directly to our cause; rebuilding the lives of these children; giving them hope for the future, and a chance to break the cycle of poverty and despair. Your donation can make a difference, one child at a time.
